While each project is unique, there are always a few common questions I am asked in the process. If you do not see an answer to a question you might have, do not hesitate to contact me below.
Each project is unique, so is each commissioning. I’ve worked with larger committees to individuals, large museum redesigns to brochures, in each case it all starts with communication. Simply contact me and we can work through the process together.

Once a topic/subject is decided upon there are usually discussions about the best way to visually communicate the concept in a creative manner that helps bring the story to life. once a few ideas are in place, the research can begin. There are many variables, but this process can take a few weeks or more.
2. With adequate research, sketches are made to show the composition of the artwork for the client to approve, There might be a few rounds of sketches before it is agreed that all is accurate and everyone is pleased with the direction of the design.
3. Rendering of the scratchboard. This process also is reliant on a number of variables, including size, complexity of the illustration and if the piece is black and white or color.
4. A low res scan of the art is sent for approval before shipping artwork or sending of a higher resolution image, depending on the final use of the art.

Photographs are an extremely valuable source of reference- but over 30 years of experience as an artist have helped refine my ability to visually translate stories were there have previously been little or no visual reference
The price charged is reliant on a number of variables, including quantity of pieces, size, use, complexity of the illustration and if the piece is black and white or color.
